Crossing over Jordan

Joshua 3: 1-17

Joshua and the children of Israel today progressed on their journey towards Shittim. The people were told to follow after the ark of the covenant of the Lord when they see the priests and levites bearing it move. God is to take the lead in the journey ahead of them. Joshua demanded that the people bee sanctified in readiness for the wonders that the Lord would do in their midst.

God then reassured Joshua of His presence and endorsement, he promised to magnify Joshua before the people so that they will know he has His authority as much as Moses did. The first Miracle God will perform before the people in Joshua’s era as leader will have some similarity to what they experienced when the left Egypt. Jordan river will be parted for the people to cross over.

God showed that He could do again what he has done before. The people passed over dry ground into Jordan as the priest bearing the ark stood firm in the midst of Jordan. If the people had doubts about Joshua before, they would have begun to see that God was with him as he was with Moses.

When God calls, He gives His authority and backing, what He has called you to do, He will help you to perform.

Some verses to remember

Vs 5: …Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.

Vs 7: …The Lord said unto Joshua, this day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so i will be with you.
